All regular BFSA meetings will be held at varies times throughout the year. On occasion, changes might be made to meeting schedule, this is based on the needs of the university and discussion items that require special presentations or to work cooperatively with university administration. These changes will be reflected on this website & we try to inform all representatives of these changes as soon as possible.

Meetings are open to all faculty and staff.

Ujima: “A Night of Excellence”

The Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) hosts the annual Ujima: “A Night of Excellence” event.  This African American Community Awards Celebration combines the rich tradition of recognizing prospective and current African American students, NKU faculty & staff, and members of the surrounding community.  This event takes place in early April.

The members of BFSA engage with campus leadership to develop fair and equitable opportunites for Black faculty & staff as we collectively and collaboratively promote student success through access, completion and career & community engagement.

Breakfast with NKU ROCKS

NKU R.O.C.K.S. (Responsibility, Opportunity, Community, Knowledge and Success), is African American Programs and Services' signature program. It is designed to ease the academic, personal and social transition from high school to college throughthe Summer Institute and yearlong program.  Faculty and Staff are encouraged to join in welcoming our incoming freshmen at the NKU ROCKS breakfast

In November, the Northern Kentucky Branch NAACP hosts their annual Freedom Fund Gala at NKU.
