When people start talking numbers eyes can start to glaze over.  To help combat that phenomenon, Chandra is committed to communicating budget information in an accurate, complete and understandable manner.  She was excited to become part of the Northern Kentucky University family as Budget Director in December 2017.  She provides leadership and strategic vision in the coordination and execution of the University’s budgeting processes.  She holds herself accountable to work collaboratively with all university stakeholders to promote fiscal responsibility while supporting student programs.  She enjoys building strong work relationships, listening to different perspectives, and identifying root causes to increase efficiencies and effectiveness.  She likes to call the small but mighty Budget Office team “storytellers”; because we analyze and tell the story behind the numbers.

Chandra comes to NKU with 20 plus years of financial services experience in the private and public sectors.  Most recently she was the Director of Budget & Accounting at The Cincinnati Public School District, with a general fund budget of $543 million, located in Cincinnati.  Her leadership roles over the course of her career covered a wide range of responsibilities, including audit, accounting, budget, compliance, and financial analysis.

Chandra likes to experience new activities with her husband Donte’. For her birthday this year he surprised her with axe throwing and she had a blast! She has a daughter who is a freshman in college and a son who is a sophomore in high school.

Chandra’s top four signature strengths are Judgment, Fairness, Love & Humor.
