Dear graduate,

Here is what you can expect on the day of your ceremony:

  • Arrival: Arrive 90 minutes prior to the ceremony, dressed in your regalia. Please do not bring hangers, garment bags or other storage items.
  • Entrance: Graduates enter through the Vault Entrance of the arena. Guests can only enter through the main entrance.
  • Name card: Pick up your name card at check-in. This card lists your name, college, degree and honors (if applicable). Keep it with you until you cross the stage. After check-in, proceed to line up.
  • Name pronunciation: Faculty will be available at check-in to confirm pronunciation of names.
  • Procession: Graduates will be directed onto the arena floor at the start of the ceremony. There is no rehearsal.
  • Ceremony: Every graduate's name will be called as they walk across the stage. All graduates are expected to return to their seats for the remainder of the ceremony.
  • Program: While only the names of graduates attending in person will be called, all graduates are proudly listed in the printed program, regardless of attendance.
  • Photography: GradImages will take up to three photos of each graduate. Proofs will be emailed to you 5-7 days after the ceremony with purchase options.
  • Recessional: Graduates will exit the arena together, following the platform party and faculty.
  • Personal items: No items may be left in the lineup room. Please give belongings to guests or keep them with you during the ceremony.
  • Regalia: The last day to place an online order for regalia is Nov. 7. Undergraduate and master's regalia will be available for purchase at the NKU Bookstore through Dec. 13.
