Commencement Checklist

What do you need to do when you get to the arena?
Remember, there is no rehearsal for graduates. There will be a large team of NKU volunteers at Truist Arena during commencement to direct graduates and answer questions. Please review the very important Graduate Arrival and Lineup information to learn what to expect when you arrive. Doors open to guests and graduates 90 minutes before the ceremony begins. Graduates should enter Truist Arena via the Vault entrance for graduate check-in.

Where to park:
Parking is free in all surface lots and garages on campus on Dec. 13. Accessible parking is available on all levels of the Arena Parking Garage and in Lot O. Guests or graduates may be dropped off in the circle drive at the main entrance of the arena. For a map or directions to NKU, visit the Campus Maps and Directions page. Visit here for more information on accessible parking and seating for your guests.

Graduate bag check and prohibited items:
To ensure the safety of all attendees, all graduates and guests will be subject to a bag check. Graduates should leave bags, coats, hangers, purses, umbrellas, or other large items with family, guests, or in their vehicles. Any items left outside the arena or unattended inside will be discarded. Prohibited items are listed here.

Plan to attend the full ceremony:
Each ceremony should last about two hours, so please share this information with your guests and plan accordingly. Graduates are expected to stay for the entire program and will be led out of the arena following the platform party and faculty procession (row by row).

Can my guest watch commencement online?
All ceremonies will be streamed live on nku.edu/commencement. The live stream is not available until the day of commencement. Videos of the ceremonies will be available for on-demand viewing after the event under previous ceremonies. A PDF file of the commencement program will also be available on the website.

What do my guests need to know?
Please review the very important guest information page to share with your family and friends.

When do I receive my diploma/transcript?
Refer to the graduate questions page to view the planned release dates for diplomas and transcripts. For questions, please contact the Registrar’s Office at (859) 572-5556 or registrar@nku.edu.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
