EngageKY is a values-based organization. Our team came together to codify in black and white what our value statements are:
Engage KY, formerly known as Kentucky Campus Compact, has a rich history rooted in the commitment to fostering community and civic engagement within Kentucky’s higher education institutions. Established to provide resources within Kentucky’s higher education institutions, our organization has leveraged AmeriCorps funding to drive impactful initiatives and promote civic responsibility across the state.
Since our inception in 2006, we have dedicated ourselves to supporting higher education institutions in their efforts to integrate civic and community engagement into their teaching and learning practices. Through our partnership with AmeriCorps, we have facilitated numerous service opportunities, secured vital resources, and provided essential support to empower Kentuckians to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
In 2024, we transitioned from Kentucky Campus Compact to EngageKY, a name that more accurately reflects our expansive mission and commitment to engaging communities throughout Kentucky. This rebranding signifies our ongoing dedication to evolving and expanding our impact, ensuring that civic and community engagement remain at the forefront of higher education in Kentucky.
Since its inception, EngageKY has been supported by Northern Kentucky University (NKU). Acting as EngageKY’s fiscal agent, NKU has provided crucial administrative support in areas such as payroll, grants/contracts, and human resources. This partnership has given the organization a strong foundation, enabling us to grow and expand our efforts to better serve Kentucky communities.
At Engage KY, we continue to uphold our purpose of supporting, promoting, and finding resources for community and civic engagement anchored in Kentucky higher education. Our dedication to this mission drives us to innovate and collaborate, fostering a culture of active citizenship and community involvement that benefits both our students and the wider community.
