Here are additional research links recommended by the Office of Institutional Research that provide publicly available student data in aggregate form, as collected by Federal and State agencies.

 

Statewide Sources:

CPE – Council on Postsecondary Education

Includes reports on postsecondary institutions in the state of Kentucky. Offers data on degrees, enrollment, financial aid, transfer statistics, and graduation rates.

 

KYSTATS – Kentucky Center for Statistics

Includes reports on individual postsecondary institutions in the state of Kentucky as well as data on education as a whole within the state. Also provides data on labor/workforce in the state of Kentucky in relation to education levels. Provides longitudinal data for trend analysis.

 

National Sources:

American Council on Education (ACE)

Offers a variety of resources on topics in regards to higher education. Includes documents and articles on topics including access to higher education, campus diversity and inclusion, attainment and innovation, campus issues, and global engagement.

 

College Board

Provides at a glance information on colleges across the country. Provides data on topics such as financial aid, graduation rates, campus life, and majors offered.

 

College Scorecard

Allows users to search for and compare universities on topics including cost, graduation rate, and salary after attending.

 

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

Employment related statistics.

 

IPEDS – Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System

Offers a wide array of data on postsecondary institutions across the country including enrollment data, graduation rates, employee/staff information, and financial aid. Allows for comparative analysis between institutions.

National Center for Education Statistics

Provides statistical information about American education from prekindergarten to graduate school. Contains information on a variety of subjects in the field of education.

NCES Digest of Education Statistics

NCES DataLab Online suite of data tools for NCES data.

 

Peterson’s College Data

Provides data on postsecondary institutions such as student population demographics, tuition, acceptance rates, and admissions information.

 

Data USA

A free-and-open data-visualization platform with profiles on more than 7,300 higher education institutions, with information including tuition costs, demographics, acceptance rates, financial aid and endowments sizes, among other statistics gleaned from U.S. Department of Education's Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).

 

U.S. News Best Colleges

Provides rankings of U.S. colleges based on a variety of demographic criteria such as programs offered, tuition, enrollment, and student-faculty ratio. The data is limited without a subscription.

Burkardt Consulting Center (BCC)
