Events such as Homecoming, Norse Leadership Retreats, and the Gold and White Awards are sponsored by the Office for Student Engagement to increase engagement and pride in the NKU Community.

Founded in 2001, the Northern Kentucky Leadership Institute (NKLI) houses 3 organizations: Freshmen Service Leadership Committee, Norse Leadership Society, and Leadership Mentors.
The Institute seeks to provide Northern Kentucky University and the campus community with opportunites for personal and professional development through workshops, retreats, and service opportunities.
Northern Kentucky University (NKU) seeks to promote the presence of a vigorous and diverse religious community on campus, to foster interfaith: dialogue, understanding and co-operation within the community, and to encourage its active participation in the public discourse of the university. To this end, NKU welcomes the presence of a wide range of denominational and non-denominational ministries reflecting all faiths and religious tradtions.
