We Acknowledge our Native Land

The LGBTQA+ Student Initiatives office openly acknowledges the traditional Indigenous inhabitants of this land: Cherokee, Osage, Myaamia, Shawnee, Kaskaskia, Hopewell Culture, and Adena Culture. We accept the call by the Native Land Digital and the U.S. Department of Arts and Culture for all individuals and organizations to acknowledge the traditional Native inhabitants of the land. In alignment with LGBTQA+ SI's principles to see, support, and welcome all, we ask for the entire NKU community to join us in our month-long campaign. Our acknowledgment is a simple, powerful way of showing of Indigenous history, embrace counter- narratives of colonialism with this educational initiative.

NKU has earned 5/5 stars on the Campus Pride Index

NKU is proud to be included on Campus Pride’s list of Best of the Best Colleges and Universities for LGBTQ+ Students in 2023, one of 30 four- year campuses to achieve the top scores on the Campus Pride Index, the definitive national benchmarking tool measuring LGBTQ-friendly policies, programs, and practices.
