Fritted Glass is pictured with small dots to reduce direct sunlight

Fritted glass is a means of providing shading and reducing the direct sunlight that enters HE while still providing open views and natural light. This shading reduces the cooling requirements of the building in summer months. Fritted glass also reduces the reflectivity of windows; reflective windows can be harmful and even deadly to birds. Therefore, fritted glass windows in HE both reduce energy consumption and help protect wildlife.
