Doctor of Education

Frank R. Caccamo is a distinguished figure in both the corporate world and higher education. He has more than five decades of experience in global business management, information management and technology, data analytics, and computing and communications infrastructure. Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Caccamo has held pivotal leadership roles in information technology in the corporate world as well as contributed his talents to higher education through advisory and board memberships.

After retiring as vice president of management systems worldwide at Procter & Gamble, Mr. Caccamo’s leadership continued as he assumed similar senior chief information officer positions at Reynolds & Reynolds, PepsiCo, Skidmore Sales & Distributing and the Quaker Oats Company. His extensive business background also encompasses responsibilities in marketing, advertising, finance and accounting. He has significant Fortune 500 experience leading the establishment of IT vision, strategy and enterprise technology plans. Mr. Caccamo also provided advisory services for the Cincinnati Consulting Consortium, and he has served on the board of directors of several business process and technology firms, including Best Upon Request, Celerant Consulting, dba Direct, Good Nursing Care, Inc. and Trivantis.

With a long history of philanthropy to Northern Kentucky University, Mr. Caccamo has been a steadfast supporter of the College of Informatics (COI) and its initiatives. Through his financial contributions, time and talent, Mr. Caccamo has made a tremendous impact on NKU students and programs. Examples of his service include his role as the founding chairman of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the College of Informatics, a co-founder of NKU’s Information Technology Leadership Forum, as well as his service as a member of the COI Business Informatics Advisory Council, the COI Center for Applied Informatics Advisory Board, the COI Health Informatics Advisory Council, the COI Information Systems Advisory Board and his service as the COI representative on the
INTERalliance Board. Mr. Caccamo is part of the Cincinnati Higher Education Collaborative, a group that encourages students in our area to pursue careers in digital technology. His commitment to NKU students and their future shines through in his role as one of the founders of UpTech, a startup accelerator in northern Kentucky.

Moreover, Mr. Caccamo’s philanthropic endeavors and civic engagement have significantly impacted communities both locally and regionally. He has served on numerous nonprofit and higher education boards, including the Life Enriching Communities, Cincinnati Sight Restoration Foundation, Inc., board president of the Saint Joseph’s College Board of Trustees and the Dean’s Advisory Board at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash, Advisory Board for Xavier University’s Business Analytics Information Systems Department and more. His dedication to higher education was previously acknowledged by his alma mater with the Alumni Service Award from the Alumni Association of Saint Joseph’s College in 2004.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements and invaluable contributions to the fields of information technology and higher education, NKU is proud to confer upon Frank R. Caccamo an honorary Doctor of Education degree. Mr. Caccamo’s legacy serves as a beacon of inspiration for future generations, embodying the university’s commitment to excellence, innovation and service to the community.
