Public Engagement Activities

The charge of the work group on Public Engagement is to provide assistance to the Strategic Planning Committee in the follow ways:

  • Gather and review information about public engagement and regional stewardship activities of the university, including, but not limited to, centers and institutes; community partnerships; economic development initiatives; and service learning.

  • Review literature on public engagement practices at other comprehensive metropolitan universities.

  • Based upon readings, analyses, discussions and input from subject matter experts and work group members, prepare a brief paper summarizing the trends in public engagement, the scope of NKU’s public engagement activities, and the primary beneficiaries of NKU’s public engagement activities.

  • Provide the paper, inventory of NKU centers and institutes, and recommended reading list to the Strategic Planning Committee by March 18, 2013.

  • Provide additional support as requested by the Strategic Planning Committee.

  • Endorse, follow, and promote the guiding principles for the strategic planning process
