Steps for Success:
We have included a suggested timeline for submitting alerts, so that we can effectively reach students and provide intervention strategies before it is too late.
In general, it is helpful for us to know if you have been in communication with the student as that helps us to frame the conversation should we be able to get in contact with them.
For Attendance Concerns - provide information about your attendance policy and/or number of days that the student has missed to this point or any other information that could assist us with giving the student direction on where to go from here.
For Academic Concerns – provide information about the student’s ability to still pass the course, your willingness to assist the student with understanding course material, and/or your ability to accept late work for credit/grades.
For Personal Concerns – provide information about the student’s specific situation that you received directly from the student, list of any other resources on campus that you have referred the student to for assistance, and information as to whether or not you have disclosed to the student that we will be reaching out to them. You can also email us directly with any information that you did not feel comfortable including in the alert on Navigate. If needed, we will submit a report on behalf of the student to the office of Community Standards and Care.
For Financial Concerns - provide information about if they still have a balance, cannot afford textbooks/access codes, and/or need help understanding their financial aid awards.
