Did you recently get a call from 859-572-7531? Each year, 20 NKU students join the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving team for the Norse Phonathon. These Student Philanthropy Ambassadors call Alumni, parents, and friends of NKU to spread the Norse spirit, update records and fundraise for important campus initiatives. The Norse Phonathon provides Student Philanthropy Ambassadors with valuable work experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the NKU community.
The next time you receive a call from the Norse Phonathon, we hope you will answer and speak with one of our Student Philanthropy Ambassadors!
The Norse Phonathon provides a personalized link between NKU and our valued community. Student Philanthropy Ambassadors reach out to Alumni, parents, and friends of NKU to keep them up to date on campus news and events while spreading Norse pride throughout the nation.
During the fall semester, Student Philanthropy Ambassadors encourage investment in the Annual Fund for Excellence. The Fund for Excellence is NKU’s unrestricted fund that addresses the greatest needs of the campus, including upgrading labs and technology, strengthening programs, and providing scholarships and other forms of student assistance.
In the spring, Ambassadors call on behalf of NKU’s colleges, raising money for each college’s unrestricted funds. These funds ensure resources are available for student and faculty research, college-specific scholarships, and student organizations.
While the Norse Phonathon raises critical funds for the university, it also gives Student Philanthropy Ambassadors the chance to share
their perspectives on NKU and build connections with Alumni, parents, and friends.
The Norse Phonathon is an excellent opportunity for Student Philanthropy Ambassadors to develop strong communication and customer service skills.
