In collaboration with the Black Faculty and Staff Association, African American Student Initiatives hosts an award ceremony which recognizes faculty, staff and students for their work within the campus community and abroad. Ujima, one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, meaning collective work and responsibility combines the rich tradition of recognition and the celebration of those individuals who have progressively worked toward the advancement of community.
