Purpose/Mission Statement - The mission of the African Student Union is to foster solidarity among African students and students at Northern Kentucky University, represents the concerns of African Students in matters that affect them and enable African students to share the cultural wealth of the African continent and encourage the spirit of multiculturalism in the Northern Kentucky community.

Requirement for joining the organization - Anyone can join this organization as it is open to everyone: Africans, African Americans, and anyone interested in learning about the African culture on campus. Members would pay participation fees of $10, which comes with benefits such as voting rights and discounts for paid events hosted by the organization.

Organization Name: Anointed Voices Gospel Choir.
Purpose/Mission Statement: The purpose of the gospel choir shall be to serve as a worship and praise ministry to the campus and surrounding community of Northern Kentucky in the form of gospel music, to the Most High God. This organization brings together individuals who are interested in promoting spiritual unity among the students of Northern Kentucky University. It encourages each one to strive for excellence in all endeavors; to be aware of the issues that involve every denomination of Christianity; and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Purpose/Mission Statement: Our mission is to support one another, have a tight bond of togetherness, be role models, be there to assist our African/African American sisters, and promote community service so the African/African American men can stand up and take their places as leaders again.

Organization: Black Student Union
Purpose/Mission Statement: The purpose of the Black Student Union shall be to serve as the unified front, organization of all Black student organizations recognized by Northern Kentucky University, while serving as a liaison for the Office of African American Student Initiatives. We aim to join together students interested in promoting consciousness of issues encountered by African Americans on NKU’s campus, and cultivate cultural awareness and social enhancement by utilizing collaborative skills and talents of African American student organizations, faculty, staff and the Northern Kentucky community. We plan to assist in the developing and strengthening the leadership skills of students, while providing continued service to our community. We will proactively take a stance for the black community and function as the voice for the Northern Kentucky University African American student body.

Organization: Black Women’s Organization (BWO)
Purpose: The purpose of B.W.O. shall be to serve as a governing body and a voice for Black (and minority) women that are recognized by Northern Kentucky University. This organization brings together students who are interested in the promotion of issues that are subject to minority women who attend NKU. B.W.O. will cultivate personal development and academic achievement by promoting growth and learning in the areas of leadership, civic responsibility, cultural awareness, personal development and women’s history. B.W.O. will strive to unify Black (and minority) women to provide a better understanding of our role as Black (and minority) women in society and build relationships with others.
Mission Statement: Our mission is to aid the growth and development of NKU minority women through unity and intensify the minority voice and presences here at NKU culturally, socially, and academically.

Purpose: The purpose of Nu Upsilon Black Women’s Honorary shall be, “To acknowledge women of color for their contributions within the community of Northern Kentucky University, and beyond. Women who empower others and achieve excellence with confidence, elegance, poise and meaning.
