This short document covers some of the best practices for encouraging academic integrity in your classroom. Good communication strategies and design practices can go a long way!
Follow these steps to add additional layers of security to your course! Some of the best techniques to keep your students behaving honestly are simple steps that only require good preparation.
The four primary tools we use are exam settings in Canvas, Respondus Lockdown Browser, Respondus Lockdown Monitor, and Turnitin. This document explains when it is appropriate to use each tool and links to pages with more information on how to implement these tools in your courses.
This is a pre-built Canvas module that covers academic integrity in-depth for both instructors and students. For instructors, it answers questions such as "Why do people cheat" and gives advice on how to build written assignments and tests.
For students, it describes what academic integrity is and the consequences of being dishonest. It gives clear definitions of plagiarism and cheating and gives advice for completing writing assignments or online tests.
