International Student Arrival window is between August 10 and August 14 before Internatonal Orientation on August 15.  Students will need to arrange for their own transportation and accommodations if you arrive before dorm check-in opens.

International Student Arrival: August 10 through August, 2024

Immigration Check-In: August 13 and August 14 (University Center Room 135)

In-Person Orientation: August 15 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM // NKU Student  Ballroom (SU 107)

Have you already received your student visa? Do you have your flights booked to CVG? Then be sure to register for International Student Orientation - we can't wait to welcome you to campus!

International Student and Scholar Services looks forward to your arrival to Northern Kentucky University. Because we care about you and your well-being while in the United States, we have prepared a comprehensive orientation schedule.

Held the week before classes begin, the goal for International Student Orientation is to get you acclimated to campus and to the resources available to you as a student at NKU.

Prior to and during International Student Orientation, you will:

  • Get your university ID card
  • Learn about NKU and the resources available to all students
  • Get to know more about your immigration responsibilities as F-1 and J-1 visa holders
  • Register for classes
  • Meet your peers from around the U.S. and the world
  • Get acclimated to U.S. cultural values and practices
  • Take a shopping trip, allowing you to buy some items you may need
  • Meet our friendly and helpful staff, who are happy to assist you during your transition to NKU
