Students at Victor Fest

International Student and Scholar Services looks forward to your arrival to Northern Kentucky University. Because we care about you and your well-being while in the United States, we have prepared a comprehensive orientation schedule.

International orientation takes places the week before classes begin, and the goal for orientation is to get you acclimated to campus and to the resources available to you as a student at NKU.

During international student orientation, you will:

  • Get your university ID card
  • Learn about NKU and the resources available to all students
  • Get to know more about your immigration responsibilities as F-1 and J-1 visa holders
  • Register for classes
  • Meet your peers from around the U.S. and the world
  • Get acclimated to U.S. cultural values and practices
  • Take a shopping trip, allowing you to buy some items you may need
  • Meet our friendly and helpful staff, who are happy to assist you during your transition to NKU

If you have any questions about orientation, please feel free to reach out to isss@nku.edu.

We're really looking forward to seeing you on campus!
