Subject: Congratulations to Norse Basketball!
Dear NKU campus community,
Please join me in congratulating our NKU Norse men’s basketball team on its 2023 Horizon League Tournament championship! It was the fourth league championship and berth in the NCAA Tournament for the men’s program in its first seven years of Division I eligibility — an accomplishment most programs have not matched so quickly.
Congratulations are also in order for our women’s basketball team on a great tournament run and nearly pulling off an upset Monday afternoon in overtime in the semifinals. We are so proud of a great season.
It was so much fun rooting the teams on Monday and Tuesday in Indianapolis and I want to thank everyone for their support, whether you made the trip with us, joined one of our watch parties or if you watched from home. The love from Norse Nation could be felt during the semifinals and finals and I know our teams appreciate it.
Now we turn our attention to Selection Sunday and the NCAA Tournament. Be on the lookout for opportunities over the next week (and hopefully more) to continue to support our team. I am looking forward to joining Norse Nation for March Madness.
