Subject: Sad News

Dear Colleagues,

Diana and I together are writing to share the sad news on the loss of one of our own.  This week, we lost Dr. Rogers Redding.  Many of us recall him coming to NKU in 1994 after he was named Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in a national search.  He served as Dean from July 1, 1994 to May 9, 2000 and later went on to serve as our Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost from May 10, 2000 to June 30, 2003.  He was an exceptional college football referee as well, serving in high level roles for 30 years.

Diana and I reminisced how he was the dean when she was tenured and the Provost when I was tenured and many of you can say the same.  I know he would be proud of all of us and the amazing work we continue at this wonderful university we call home.

Thanks to all of you who have reached out to both of us and to each other sharing the news.  It is a testament to how many lives he touched while he was at NKU and to how he stayed in touch over the years.

Information about his services can be found here.

Take care,

Cady Short-Thompson, Ph.D.
