Subject: Continuing our successful transfer campaign
Dear Colleagues,
NKU’s spring semester registration will begin next month, and we have an opportunity to continue the momentum we have built over the past year with successful enrollment. Just about a year ago, I wrote to you announcing the first big initiative in our renewed strategic enrollment efforts — the January 2024 NKU Transfer campaign that led to transfer student confirmations growing 30% over last year.
So, this year, let’s keep going! If you know someone interested in a change or a new place to call home, tell them about your home at NKU. As you see them over upcoming breaks, talk up NKU and tell them they belong here. We are ready to meet them wherever they are so they can make their dreams a reality in our perfectly sized community with big-city opportunities nearby. We even have room for them in our residence halls if coming all the way home (and living at home) is not what they want to do!
Tactically, we continue to have multiple spring transfer incentives available, but the process begins with organic word-of-mouth testimony from those of us who experience this great place every day. I urge all of you to be an NKU ambassador and share the many great opportunities we have to offer. Post about NKU on your social media channels, repost our transfer campaign social media posts, and share our information with your neighbors and friends. And of course, also share our Transfer Center home page which walks prospective transfers through the application process.
Our new Direct-Admit Program and 3 States, 1 Rate tuition program will make access to NKU even easier for perspective students beginning in fall 2025. The Wall Street Journal recently ranked NKU 29th for best value university in the nation — right after Harvard and right before the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I hope you are as excited for the future as I am because of the progress we are making.
Let’s keep the momentum rolling and turn our attention once again to those who might feel lost in a class of thousands of other students, who might feel overwhelmed by the environment of the campus, who don’t feel safe on their current campus, or who have realized the high cost of their university is too much for them. Let’s tell them they belong here at NKU where they are more than just a number and that NKU is here to help them have a fresh start. Let’s encourage more folks to be a Norse, not a number!
Let’s continue to work together to bring our newest Norse home. Thanks for all you do!
All my best to each of you,
Cady Short-Thompson, Ph.D.
