FERPA is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. This broad privacy act for Higher Education restricts the University from sharing any information about an enrolled student without their express consent, no matter whether a parent pays for college or whether they still claim the student as a dependent. We would be glad to work with you, as long as we have FERPA records on file, signed by your student.

Wellness Checks

There are times during your student's college experience that you may be worried about them, including their academic progress, their mental health, whether they are fitting in, whether they are making friends, and whether they are staying healthy.

University Housing staff reaches out to all students on a regular basis through their Resident Assistant (RA). We always encourage students to connect with their RA for more information on resources offered by the University.

While we work hard to be a resource for all students, we cannot perform Wellness Checks based on parent calls. We encourage you to contact your student directly. If you are worried that your student is in imminent danger, please contact NKU University Police at (859) 572-5500.
