What to expect when you call the toll-free number
When you call the toll-free number, an EAP representative will speak with you about the nature of the issue for which you are seeking service. Your initial consultation can be done via phone.
NKU faculty and staff and eligible household members will have access to Talkspace, an additional free counseling service.
Sometimes reaching out for emotional support can feel like one more thing to add to your to-do list. Work with a counselor anytime, just about anywhere. It's easy to get started. Simply:
1. Log on to NKU’s member website resourcesforliving.com with username MYNKUEAP and password EAP and select Services > Talkspace online therapy, or call 1-855-213-3093, TY 711 to get started.
2. Complete a short online questionnaire.
2. Choose a therapist from a list of suggested providers.
3. Connect with a counselor virtually with televideo and/or chat therapy.
*Please note: Chat therapy is for individual counseling members 13 years of age and older. Chat therapy should not be considered for meeting requirements for employment, school enrollment, disability or legal documentation. Chat therapy and televideo sessions in the same week count as multiple sessions.
Work on the same kinds of issues you'd see a counselor face-to-face to talk about. They can support you with:
Meet with your therapist online at a set time for a 30-minute session. Each session counts as one visit. Benefit includes 8 free visits per topic. Be very specific about the topic you wish to cover in your sessions to ensure you are able to access additional free sessions for a different topic if needed.
Share text, video or audio messages with your counselor whenever you like. Your counselor will respond within one working day up to five days a week. Without making an appointment or driving to a provider's office, chat therapy can help you:
One week of chat therapy counts as one visit. Benefit includes 8 weeks of chat therapy, per topic. Weeks do not have to be consecutive. Be very specific about the topic you wish to cover in your sessions to ensure you are able to access additional free sessions for a different topic if needed.
Best of all, televideo/chat therapy are free and secure for you to use. Simply log on to your member website to sign up for chat therapy and/or televideo today.

You can continue to access services after you complete your EAP (pre-paid) sessions. Simply email RFL-support@talkspace.com for information on how to continue receiving services and see if a discount is available.
Unlimited, 24-Hour Telephonic Access
You have unlimited, toll-free telephonic access to EAP dedicated staff, 24 hours per day.
Ready Clinician Access
After a brief screening, you will be given ready telephonic access to licensed behavioral health professionals.
Counseling Sessions
You and all members of your household can each receive up to the designated 8 face to face counseling sessions with no direct cost to you i.e., no copays or deductibles. You can access these 8 counseling sessions once per year for any one issue. There is no limit to the number of issues.
If counseling beyond the pre-determined number is needed for a particular issue, Aetna EAP will facilitate additional counseling sessions through your medical benefits plan, when available.
Interactive Web Resources
You have direct access to a full range of Web-based tools and resources, such as easy-to-find information, self-assessments and more, on a variety of relevant topics. Your home page quickly displays your EAP choices so you can start getting the help you need, 24 hour s a day, seven days a week.

*Gifts to welcome your baby such as a bib, bottle bag, magnet with immunization schedule and one-piece infant undergarment.
Child Safety Kit
*Pocket guide to emergency first aid, car seat safety glove box tips.
*Literature related to: choosing age appropriate toys, fire safety, baby products and equipment, sunburn protection, poison prevention, outdoor safety.
