UMR Health Center

Are you dealing with an ongoing health issue or chronic disease, such as diabetes, cancer or renal disease? Free, ongoing support for managing these issues, as well as other reources to support your health and well-being, are available to you through NKU's medical benefits provider, UMR. All UMR resources can be accessed at UMR.com when you create and log into your personal member account.


Ongoing Condition CARE

UMR offers expert resources and personal support to help individuals with certain ongoing health conditions live their lives to the fullest.

If you have one or more of the managed conditions, you may be invited to participate in one-on-one calls with a CARE nurse. UMR's registered nurses can guide you in taking actions to control your symptoms and improve your overall health.

  • Hypertension, heart failure or coronary artery disease

  • Ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease
  • Breast, prostate, colorectal or lung cancers

Coping with health concerns can be time consuming and complex. It can be hard to know where to find trusted information among so many choices or what to do in a non-emergency situation. With NurseLineSM you get timely access to nurses who can answer your questions and point you to the right level of care. You also have the ability to live chat with one of our nurses about a variety of health topics. Log inot your UMR account to access the NurseLineSM

Need to chat with a live nurse?

Our Nurse Chat service gives you convenient access to trusted information, right when you want it. Our online nurses can answer questions about common symptoms, illnesses and treatments, along with information about preventive care. Log into your UMR account to access the chat. You will be asked to answer a couple questions about yourself and your topic of interest so we are ready to respond to your needs.

Retail clinic/convenient care clinic

Retail clinics, sometimes called convenient care clinics, are located in retail stores, supermarkets and pharmacies.

When to go:

  • Minor sprains, burns or rashes
  • Headaches or sore throats

Urgent care/walk-in clinic

Urgent care centers, sometimes called walk-in clinics, are often open in the evenings and on weekends.

  • Sprains and strains

  • Minor infections or rashes
  • Earaches

Your doctor's office

Seeing your doctor is important. Your doctor knows your medical history and any ongoing health conditions.

  • Preventive services and vaccinations
  • Medical problems or symptoms that are not an immediate, serious threat to your health or life
