Director of Business Experience, College of Business

"Professor Walker enabled myself and many other business students with tools we need to succeed in the future. She taught us how to be professional, made us create professional profiles, and how to conduct an interview. She also truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed."

"I love how we can see the difference we make through our roles."

What is your favorite thing about NKU?
I love how we can see the difference we make through our roles. Not many people can say that. The best feeling is getting an email from a former student excited about an internship they received after taking my class or having a Career Path Coaching appointment with me.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
I don’t get to do it often, but I love having lunch by Loch Norse Lake. It is a great vantage point if you haven’t taken the time to do it. I challenge you to take the 30 minutes out of your busy day this spring or summer and have lunch on a bench near the lake. It’s a nice little escape from your office. Just watch out for the geese!

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?
Home. I went to my undergrad (bachelor’s in PR), graduate school (master’s in communication), and now in the Ed.D. (Educational Leadership) program here. No matter the program or the building I enter, I feel at home.

What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
Spending time with my family. My husband’s name is Kenny and we have three little kiddos-Adeline (5), Evelyn (3), and Mason (1). They keep me busy and are the spark in life! My goal is to be an inspiration to them. We just purchased a camper and we’re excited for adventures!

What is your greatest passion?
I love reading and writing. This is what has brought me back full circle to NKU and now pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I am also on the Board of Directors for Adopt a Book–a program devoted to giving kids access to literacy.
