Dr. Kimberly Clayton-Code

Director, Institute for Talent Development and Gifted Studies

"Dr. Clayton-Code truly cares about the Norse community. She doesn't miss a single opportunity to inspire, guide, assist or educate a student or colleague in need. She takes ample amount of time out of her very busy schedule to just help. The idea of pulling up other women along with you... she lives that."

What is your favorite thing about NKU?
My favorite thing about NKU is the caring and supportive community. I have fantastic colleagues and students who are doing great things to make a difference in our community.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
My favorite spot is the second-floor lobby area of the MP building at lunchtime. This area becomes energized as students eat, study, catch up and talk about their futures. Their energy and excitement is contagious. A close second is Loch Norse. I love that I can see it from my office window.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?
Opportunity.

What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family—my husband, Mike, and sons Matthew and Andrew. I also obsessively enjoy taking Peloton classes.

What is your greatest passion?
My greatest passion is working with students to empower them to pursue their goals and dreams. Through programs such as Camp Innovation, DreamFest and Young Women LEAD and the classes I teach at NKU, I can provide opportunities for students to explore diverse careers, expand their critical and creative thinking and achieve their own success.
