"Being an international student from Nepal, traveling about 12,000 miles away from home, I was very scared. I really didn’t know what to expect, but now I am so glad that I did take this step and came here to NKU because it has given and continues to give me so many great opportunities."

What is your favorite thing about NKU?
The people! I absolutely love how welcoming and friendly the people are here. From students to teachers and everyone around the campus has always been positive and kind toward one another.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
My favorite spot on campus is Student Union. I met most of my friends for lunch, and we used to sit, talk and update each other on our days. I used to stumble upon so many friends and people I adore, and so Student Union holds a special place in my heart. I miss the pre-COVID situation.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?
This is a tough one. I would say NKU is “diverse."

What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
I usually like to watch movies and go to the gym when I have time. Also, I like taking walks when the weather is great!

What is your greatest passion?
In both my personal and professional lives, I'm enthusiastic about growth and self-improvement. I'm always seeking new challenges and opportunities to learn new things. Currently working as a marketing events and display co-op; I've developed great communication, listening and problem-solving abilities that benefit me not only in my professional life but also in my personal life in terms of confidence, communication and so on.

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or NKU that you want folks to know.
Being an international student from Nepal, traveling about 12,000 miles away from home, I was very scared. I really didn’t know what to expect, but now I am so glad that I did take this step and came here to NKU because it has given and continues to give me so many great opportunities regardless of where I come from! From 2018, to 2022, it has been a beautiful journey, and I can't wait to see what life has to offer after my graduation in May.
