"For many of us, NKU is our home away from home, and you can sense that as you walk around campus and observe people’s expressions and interactions."

What is your favorite thing about NKU?
The feeling of community felt and created by every student, faculty and staff member. For many of us, NKU is our home away from home, and you can sense that as you walk around campus and observe people’s expressions and interactions.

Where is your favorite spot on campus? What makes that spot so special?
I love the Student Union lobby because it is always alive and buzzing with activity. It is an exciting place to connect, to explore what opportunities are being offered by student organizations, outside employers and community partners, to hear and support causes near to the heart of our NKU family or to just have fun. I especially love the SU lobby because it is where WISH (Welcome International Students Home) members meet weekly to connect. Every Wednesday we share a coffee, snack or lunch and build friendships that often last well beyond the four years of study at NKU.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think about NKU?
Diverse.

What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
Traveling the world, not to the “touristy” destinations, but rather to cities and countries where I can see and experience firsthand how different people live. (Globe Trekker experiences versus Rick Steves')

What is your greatest passion?
Learning about and experiencing other cultures. We live in a world full of God’s glory. Every creature, culture and people group has been created unique and special. Today’s modern technology and affordable travel provide us a window through which we can discover and celebrate that uniqueness.

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or NKU that you want folks to know.
I am thankful to have the opportunity to support international students by helping them connect to each other, to globally minded American students, to faculty and staff, as well as to community volunteers and families through WISH activities and through the International Friendship Family Program.
