Overview of major authors and movements from Old French to the 20th century.
- Professor Iliana Rosales Figueroa
Professor Rosales Figueroa explains how students learned about learning pedagogy:
My class wrote two reaction papers in French, did a site visit and prepared an oral presentation in French too. The interesting highlights of the class experiences were the site visits to the nonprofit organizations. During their oral presentations, students showed pictures not only of the buildings but also of their interactions with the people from each nonprofit organization. They also explained to the rest of the class the nonprofit missions. For each oral presentation, the rest of the class was interested in what they heard and there were a lot of questions.
Mission
We Speak Up for Horses bound for slaughter and those neglected, abused, or discarded by rescuing and rehoming these horses. We also educate the public about horse slaughter, horse welfare laws, and what it means to be a responsible horse owner. Our work is driven by the belief that education seeds compassion, a life-long commitment to our horses and a respect for all life.
Professor Rosales Figueroa:
"I had several absences throughout the semester because some students got COVID-19. I was worried that they were not going to be able to do their site visit. Once they had their site visit everything else ran smoothly."
