Emergencies, disasters, accidents, injuries, and crimes often occur without warning. Individual preparation is a crucial part of emergency preparedness.

No document or person can provide concrete answers about any situation, as emergencies are exceptionally dynamic and involve countless variables. The information provided in this and similar documents is designed as a resource to encourage preplanning and individual preparedness. Ultimately, you have to make decisions which you feel allow for the best chance of survival during an emergency. The campus community is encouraged to review emergency related documents and procedures on a regular basis so they can make better informed decisions.
