ABOUT US

Northern Kentucky University is dedicated to sustainability.

What is Sustainability?

Generally defined as the practice of shared stewardship of both natural and human-made resources, sustainability is reached when the needs of the present are met without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

What is Sustainability at NKU?

Sustainability is a theme that has been important to our university since its inception. At NKU, we believe that sustainability is the collective responsibility of all members of the campus community and is fundamental to education, engagement, resources and the built environment. Sustainability at NKU takes on many different forms. From energy saving measures to environmental science education, sustainability can be found all across campus.
