NKU Sustainability and NKU Faculty have teamed up to create the first Sustainability Engagement & Action Group (SEAG). As stated in the group name, we will be focused on actionable items that advance sustainability initiatives at NKU. All students, faculty, staff, and administrators are welcome to attend and participate in the SEAG.
Mission: The Sustainability Engagement & Action Group engages faculty, staff, students and the community in collaborative action to advance sustainability initiatives on campus and help Northern Kentucky University progress toward the interconnected goals of environmental stewardship, equity and student success.
As stated in the official NKU Sustainability Strategy, "Environmental sustainability is the responsibility of all members of the campus community and is fundamental to the University’s mission of education, scholarship, and engagement." We hope you will join us in creating collective action to advance sustainability at NKU.
The current project for the SEAG team is to complete the internationally recognized AASHE STARS report. This will help create a baseline for sustainability at NKU while bringing together individuals across campus from various departments to collaborate on a common goal. Student participants will also gain research experience while learning more about our university overall.
Everyone is welcome to participate with this group, regardless of whether you have attended previous meetings. We simply ask that if you commit to a workgroup, please be an active participant. Workgroups will be completing individual sections of the STARS report.
