Subject: Honoring our Veterans and Giving Thanks

Dear Campus Community:

NKU will commemorate Veterans Day with a flag raising and wreath laying ceremony at 2 p.m. in University Center 135. Later in the afternoon, Bob Barth, Vietnam War veteran and NKU alumnus, will read his poetry in Steely Library. This is a rare opportunity to experience poetry about war, hear first-hand stories and thank an alum and local veteran. We owe a great deal to our veterans, so please find a way to show your appreciation to those who have served.

We have much to be thankful for this year, despite the continuing pandemic. With the COVID vaccine now approved for school-aged children, we can gather with family and friends and truly appreciate being together. In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, I hope you take a moment to reflect on what matters most – health and wellbeing, family and friends, and gratitude for those who serve, protect and care for us. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve our engaged campus community committed to student success. Thank you for all you do each day for the university.

Sincerely,
Ashish Vaidya
