Subject: Vice President for Administration & Finance Search

Dear Campus Community:

For the past three years, we have had interim leadership for the Division of Administration & Finance (A&F). After the departure of Senior Vice President for A&F Sue Hodges Moore in February 2018, Mike Hales and Lori Southwood served as co-administrators of the division, and for the past two years, Mike has been providing capable leadership as the interim VP.

After successfully completing the search for a new Vice President for Student Affairs and Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, it is time to begin the search for the new Vice President for Administration & Finance.

The division oversees the full range of resources that we employ as an organization – human resources, IT, financial and space/facilities. As such, the vice president is responsible for strategic leadership of all of our resources to effectively support NKU’s strategic framework, mission and vision. With the rapidly changing higher education landscape, the vice president will work collaboratively with constituents across the institution to provide advice on the effective use of resources, developing priorities and strategies to meet short- and long-term goals of financial sustainability, administrative and operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with the various regulatory issues that we face.

Mike has informed me that he will not be a candidate for the VP position, and I respect his decision.  He will continue to lead the division until we have filled the VP position and then return to his prior position of providing oversight for budget and finance.

I have asked Provost Matt Cecil to chair the search and will be seeking nominations from Faculty Senate, Staff Congress and Student Government Association to identify faculty, staff and students to serve on the search advisory committee. It is my expectation that we will begin the search soon, with finalists identified by Spring 2022.

The campus will be kept updated as the search progresses. Thank you in advance for your engagement during the search process.

Sincerely,

Ashish Vaidya
