The Imagine America Military Award Program is open to military personnel who wish to pursue and/or are continuing to pursue post-secondary career education at specific colleges or trade schools. This award is available to any active duty and honorably discharged or retired veteran of a United States military service branch. In order to apply, you must also meet the college or trade school’s standard admissions requirements for your requested program of study. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to the dependent children of U.S. military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled as a result of an operational mission or training accident, or a U.S. military personnel who is classified as a prisoner of war (POW) or missing in action (MIA). You must also maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled full time to remain on scholarship and to be eligible to renew your scholarship.
Applicant must be a member of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion and shall have paid dues for the two preceding years and for the calendar year in which application is made. Be either a non-traditional student returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her formal education was interrupted or a non-traditional student who is just beginning his/her education at a later point in life. American Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship recipients are not eligible.
