The ARLC articulates to students the values, philosophy, and policies of University Housing and the University and represents University Housing as a role model in all facets of university life. The ARLC assists with departmental opening and closing processes, facilitates community development, coordinates staff programming efforts, serves as a referral agent for students, effectively manages administrative tasks, assists in the selection, training, and supervision of undergraduate staff, and serves as a positive member of the University Housing team. The ARLC is supervised by a Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) who works in the same assigned residential area.

The ARLC must have a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and must be enrolled in a graduate program at a regionally accredited institution of higher education (Preferred enrollment at NKU).

Preferred qualifications include at least one year of employment as a Resident Assistant (RA) (or equivalent position) and at least one year of living on a college campus.

Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.

ARLCs receive the following:

1. A private apartment in University Housing, including all utilities. Campus residency is required for the role.
2. A set stipend each semester of $4,000.
3. Graduate-level tuition remission for up to 9 credit hours of course work per semester.
4. A $1,000 declining balance meal plan per semester. A separate, smaller declining balance meal plan will be offered during summer and student staff training periods in July and August of each year.

ARLCs are expected to be available from mid-July to mid-May for each academic year, including break periods. ARLCs will work 20-25 hours per week.
