Certification Process

Veterans Benefit Request Form is required for *all* veterans and dependents each semester they wish to have their enrollment certified with the VA. Click the button below to access and fill out the Veteran's Benefit Request Form.

This includes the following benefits:

  • Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty - CH 30
  • Vocational Rehabilitation - CH 31
  • Post 9-11 GI Bill - CH 33
  • Survivor/Dependent Education Assistance - CH 35
  • Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve - CH 1606 
  • Reserve Assistance Education Program (REAP) - CH 1607

Please be aware that if you submit your Veterans Benefit request form late, there will be a delay in receiving your veteran's benefits!

Step 1:

Enroll into all your courses for the semester.

Step 2:

Submit your certifcation request through NKU_VRS Canvas course on your Dashboard:

  • Click Assignments
  • Choose Approprate Semester
  • If you need to drop a course or courses and have mitigating circumstances, send a message through canvas. Examples below.
An illness or injury afflicting the student during the enrollment period.
An illness or death in the student’s immediate family.An unavoidable change in the student’s conditions of employment.
An unavoidable geographical transfer resulting from the student’s employment.
Immediate family or financial obligations beyond the control of the claimant that require him or her to suspend pursuit of the program of education to obtain employment.
Discontinuance of the course by the school.Unanticipated active military service, including active duty for training.
Unanticipated difficulties with childcare arrangements the student has made for the period during which he or she is attending classes.
