Resume Feedback

• For personalized feedback on your resumes and cover letters, email them to ResumeHelp@nku.edu as an attachment.

Dress professionally (suit is best, but business casual is acceptable - avoid jeans, t-shirts, caps, athletic wear, tennis shoes). Clothing does not have to be expensive.

See Professional Clothing Resources for nearby thrift, consignment, and outlet stores.  Visit NKU's Care Closet throughout the semester for free clothing items - you can also check out their special event focused on Career Expo.

• Bring 10-20 copies of your resume
• Your ALL CARD (for student check-in)
  
• A pen
• A pad for notes
• A padfolio (optional) to take notes and hold copies of your resume
  

Stop by Prep Fest at Career Services (UC 225) anytime between noon - 5 p.m. on Feb. 12:

• Get in-person resume feedback
• Visit the NKU's Care Closet booth for career fair clothing
• Practice career fair conversations with employer volunteers
• Grab an employer list
• See a Handshake demo

There will be giveaways, popcorn, and prizes throughout the day.

Schedule a Career Fair Prep appointment with Career Services to practice having conversations with employers! Schedule via Handshake or by calling 859-572-5680.

Upload your resume to Handshake and complete your Profile.  Benefits of using Handshake:

• Employers can search for you based on your profile information and resume
• You can access job postings, student reviews, and other details for the 600,000+ companies in the Handshake network
• Be the first to know! Handshake will alert you to new jobs and events that align with your interests (based on your profile and Handshake activity)
• Ensure your Career Expo nametag is correct - it will feature your name, major, and graduation date (as listed in Handshake)
