Career Advice Videos

Watch these short videos to learn how to make the most of a career fair.

You should dress professionally (a suit is best, but shirt/tie and dress pants for men; blouse/dress slacks for women is acceptable - avoid jeans, t-shirts, caps, athletic shoes, hiking boots, etc.), bring multiple copies of your resume and your ALL CARD, and be prepared to speak with employers. If you have a tight budget, see Professional Clothing Resources. Remember, your goal is to make a positive first impression on the employer and dressing up shows them that you made an effort to impress!

Be sure to check out our Spring Events 2019 (workshops covering resumes, job searching, etc.) and visit Career Services (UC 225) to have your resume reviewed.  Walk-in hours (no appointment necessary) are Mon., 3:30-5:30 p.m.; Wed., 9-11 a.m.; and Th., 2:30-4 p.m., or you may call 859-572-5680 for an appointment. If you cannot attend a resume workshop, see our Resume Preparation Guide.

You should research participating organizations prior to the Expo on HireNKU, the organizations' websites, and other online and print resources. See Make the Most of Career Fair handout. Don't forget to download the Career Fair Plus app (see links above).
