Steely Library serves as a hub for research and creative activity. Donations will support technology-rich learning spaces. Steely’s envisioned makerspace is a leading example of how our innovative staff will support students in creating 3D prototypes, digital exhibits, and more. Donations support equipment such as 3D scanners, 3D printers, vinyl cutter plotters, and virtual reality technology. Generous support totaling $100,000 will make this space a reality for our students.
We want students to feel at home at Steely Library, and our collections should represent their diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Databases with unique content like what’s found in Black Thought and Culture by Alexander Street, Latin American Experience by ABC-Clio, eHRAF World Cultures, range from $700 to $20,000. Donations to the library’s Inclusive Excellence Collection support collections focused on historically-underrepresented voices and diversity-focused library events and initiatives.
Help make the college journey more affordable for students by giving to our textbook program. Textbooks purchased through this program are available to all students and reduces the cost of higher education. Donations support the textbook program and open education resource initiatives.
The Library Fellowship introduces undergraduate students to careers in academic librarianship, a challenging and rewarding field filled with mobility and advancement potential. Fellows have the opportunity to work closely with a mentor team of library faculty and staff during the Spring semester. Through generous support, Fellows are awarded $1,500 for 120 hours of participation in the program.
