Digital Humanities Resident Librarian

As members of the Association of College and Research Libraries Diversity Alliance, Steely Library seeks a dynamic, patron-focused, early-career librarian to participate in a 2-3-year diversity residency program and is a non-tenure track position. This program will provide a collaborative, supportive environment to allow the resident to gain the requisite skills and competencies required to thrive in academia. This position will also provide a unique opportunity for the resident to help assess how digital humanities are used on campus, research possible services that the library can support, and implement a new digital humanities program that will have lasting impact on NKU’s community (e.g. geospatial/mapping, publishing and document preparation, data analysis and visualization, interactive timelines). As part of the Digital Scholarship and Communication Services department, the resident is encouraged to bring their own interests, areas of expertise, and willingness to learn as they help develop these exciting new services. Project Archivist

NKU’s Special Collections and University Archives Department seeks an energetic, curious, new to the field archivist as a full time, one year, non-tenure track, temporary Project Archivist to help complete several important projects. This is an entry level position requiring coursework and experience in electronic records. The first priority will be to finish processing electronic records, formatting the finding aid and other miscellaneous tasks from a U.S. Senator’s collection. Second will be to create a course in Canvas that meets department requirements and populate it with files. Assessment Coordinator

Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, the Assessment Coordinator will support the development of a comprehensive assessment program in the library and assist in data gathering, analysis, and visualization of library assessment data. This collaborative role will support all units, ensuring that we are prepared for our regular reporting obligations and future accreditation processes.

Graduate Library Information Specialist – Public Services Associate

The Public Services Associate will bring a broad user-focused perspective to key public services areas while gaining exposure to academic library operations. This temporary staff position will contribute to library services that support and advance student success, inclusivity, retention, and the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan focused on information literacy. The Public Services Associate will participate in a suite of Research Help services, including in-person and virtual research assistance and research consultations. As part of the Education & Outreach Services department, this position will contribute to special projects that advance information literacy across campus.

Instructional Designer

We are accepting applications for an instructional designer to join CITE. This position is responsible for the coordination, design and development of instructional, technological and multimedia related objects needed for online, hybrid and/or face-to-face course delivery as well as provide support and training for the development and integration of instructional technology into the learning environment.

Library Systems Support Specialist

This position will support the integrated library system and discovery products, provide database maintenance of associated products, and support other hardware and software as appropriate.

Key Responsiblities Include:
  • Configures, troubleshoots, maintains, and upgrades integrated library system and discovery software and associated products in consultation with library staff and vendors. 
  • Coordinates new product demos, testing, implementation and training as appropriate.
  • Manage Springshare products, including LibGuides.
  • Manages library’s OCLC-hosted proxy server. Performs regular patron loads.
  • Generates statistical reports, maintains awareness of best practices,
    and communicates trends in library systems and discovery. Serves as
    liaison to counterpart in IT.
