The Schlachter University Archives documents the history of the people, events, activities and built environment associated with Northern Kentucky University from its inception on July 1, 1948 as the Northern Extension Center (NCC), an extension of the University of Kentucky, through its 1964 transition to the UK Northern Community College (UKNCC), the 1968 creation of Northern Kentucky State College (NKSC) to the present.
Following archival practice, the university’s records are organized according to the university structure as established by the Board of Regents.
