This Japanese wedding kimono was donated to Special Collections by Tokiko Freeman in honor of Dr. Richard Ward, the founding chair of the Department of Political Science at Northern Kentucky University.
The kimono is hand-sewn featuring rocks and streams, flowers, cranes and turtles. The figures are embroidered in silk and couched gold thread.
The kimono is accompanied by a white obi and a pink scarf.
