Steely patrons can now find gender-neutral restrooms on the fourth floor of Steely Library, to the left of the central elevator. The restrooms are open to all genders, wheelchair accessible, and accommodate one patron at a time.
Wave Technology Coming Soon!
Due to hardware back-ordering issues, the wave technology next to the doorframe to open the door automatically is not yet functional. However, patrons can still access the restrooms by pushing the door inwards.
At Steely, we celebrate the diversity of the NKU community by making daily strides to ensure the library is a welcoming and inclusive place to learn, gather, and create. Adding gender-neutral restrooms with the support of NKU’s Planning, Design and Construction unit was a necessary step in cultivating an active sense of belonging.
