The 2024 election season is in full swing and Steely Library has the resources you need to be an informed voter before you head to the polls. Misinformation is abundant and especially prevalent in the weeks leading up to an election. So, whether you’re a seasoned voter or this is your first election, consider the following resources as you make decisions on ballot issues and races.

  • Access World News: While international coverage is available, you can also connect with 95 Kentucky news sources, 200+ Ohio outlets, and about 150 news sources in Indiana. Use the USA Source Locator Map to narrow news from a geographic area.
  • New York Times access: Through Steely, NKU students have free access to the New York Times and all its coverage of the presidential race. Be sure to register with your NKU email address.
  • Issues & Controversies: Want to dig deeper into the issues being discussed this election season? This resource provides multiple perspectives on hot topic issues, including those framing the presidential race.
  • Local news. Reference local news sources for ballot issues and candidates closer to home. For example, Steely provides direct access to the Cincinnati Enquirer and Louisville’s Courier-Journal.

Connect with even more information at Steely Library’s News Resources Guide and resources from the Scripps Howard Center for Student Engagement. Additionally, librarians will be available in the Student Union and Steely Library to help you preview your ballot so you can make a plan for the polls. Check out Steely Library’s CampusGroup page to learn when and where you can connect with them.
