Steely Launches New Suite of Student Workshops

Steely Library has a suite of student workshops available this semester on topics related to artificial intelligence (AI), Wikipedia, and Zotero, a citation management tool. These one-hour, free workshops are designed to help students gain valuable skills that will support their academic success and supplement existing research strategies. 

AI Tools for Research Success

Workshop description: Meet ResearchRabbit, the self-described research paper “discovery engine!” Learn how to use this powerful AI tool to uncover sources for literature reviews, track trends, explore research in innovative ways, and more.

Date, time, and location:

  • Wednesday, September 27 from 1-2 p.m., online via Zoom
  • Wednesday, October 22 from 1-2 p.m., in-person in Steely Library Room 300

Getting Started with Citation Management

Workshop description: Zotero is a free citation manager that helps students and professional researchers organize their research sources and produce on-the-fly bibliographies and in-text citations. Learn how to use this tool and how it can save you time in your research process.

  • Wednesday, October 15 from 1-2 p.m., in-person in Steely Library Room 300
  • Wednesday, November 5 from 1-2 p.m., online via Zoom

Wikipedia 101: Editing Basics for Absolute Beginners

Workshop description: Ever wondered how to edit Wikipedia? Ever thought about editing a page but didn’t know where to start? Attend our workshop and learn the basics about editing Wikipedia from a Steely librarian. (You might even discover that it’s easier than you thought!) All are welcome, no prior knowledge needed.

  • Thursday, October 30, 1-2 p.m., in-person in Steely Library Room 304
