Looking for your next leadership opportunity on campus? Applications are now open for students interested in joining the Board of Student Stakeholders (BOSS) for the upcoming academic year. Apply today and help Steely Library better serve its student population.

As a new academic year kicks off, NKU students are invited to join a unique student organization to play an integral role in shaping the future of Steely Library. Whether you're a returning undergraduate or graduate student or just embarking on your academic journey at NKU, we want to extend a warm welcome and offer you a chance to make an impact on campus.

What is BOSS?

The Board of Student Stakeholders (BOSS) serves as a vital bridge connecting the student community with Steely Library. It ensures that student voices are not only heard but also valued in the decisions that shape the library's services, resources, and spaces.

Throughout the upcoming academic year (2023-24), the BOSS team will unite to bring a $3,000 library improvement project to life! The group will meet once per month September through May (8 meetings.)

Why Should You Join BOSS?

Influence: Your input matters. By joining BOSS, you can directly influence the trajectory of library services and resources, creating a lasting impact for yourself and future NKU students.

Networking: Collaborate with fellow students, and library professionals alike. BOSS offers you a unique networking opportunity to foster valuable connections.

Leadership: Leadership opportunities within BOSS can help you hone skills in communication, project management, and teamwork. These experiences will not only enrich your resume but also contribute to your own personal growth as a leader.

Professional Development: Engaging in BOSS provides an inside look into the inner workings of academic libraries—how they're run, how decisions are made, and how they support their students in a variety of ways.

Events and Activities: BOSS doesn't just stop at meetings. We’ll organize exciting activities, host discussions, provide a forum to delve into library trends, and provide valuable feedback on relevant library-related topics and initiatives.
