Northern Kentucky University observes the following holidays by closing all departments and offices except those deemed essential, in accordance with Northern Kentucky University Policy:
New Year’s Day – Thursday, January 1, 2026
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – Monday, January 19, 2026
Memorial Day – Monday, May 25, 2026
Juneteenth – Friday, June 19, 2026
Independence Day – Monday, July 6, 2026 observed
Labor Day – Monday, September 7, 2026
Thanksgiving – Wednesday, November 25, 2026 through Friday, November 27, 2026
Holiday Break** – Thursday, December 24, 2026 through January 1, 2027
Additionally, we will observe summer Fridays with typical office hours of 8:15 am – 12:00 pm starting Friday, May 15, 2026 through Friday, August 14, 2026.
** Some offices will remain open, with limited staff, during the holiday break. The length of the holiday break aligns with the academic calendar. The fall semester starts a week later than in years past and as a result fall 2026 commencement is on December 19, 2026 and grades are due on December 22, 2026.
