What Employee Relations can do for you as a supervisor:
Corrective Action: Advice is provided to supervisors on how to correct poor performance and employee misconduct. In such instances, progressive discipline, regulatory and other requirements must be considered in effecting disciplinary actions, resolving employee grievances and appeals.
Performance Improvement Plans: Performance improvement plans should be developed to address the specific performance needs of the employee, should provide clear, concise examples of performance behaviors that are not meeting expectation and include desired behaviors, timelines, deadlines, outcomes, consequences, etc. The manager and employee should work together during the meeting to develop the plan and establish SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely) goals for the employee. All plans should include the action steps that will be taken to correct sub-standard job performance and a follow-up plan to monitor results. All agreed upon steps in the plan should be fulfilled by both the manager, as well as the employee.

Benefits At Separation:
Effective January 1, 2014 effected a tobacco free policy on the NKU campus with the guiding belief that the Northern Kentucky University community deserves a healthy place in which to learn, work, live, and visit. A mindful campus environment involves continued awareness of various health risks and adverse environmental conditions. We support initiatives that enhance the well-being of our campus community consisting of faculty, staff, students, guests, visitors, and contractors.
