by Process - Faculty/Staff

The links below lead to more detail about the myNKU processes most commonly performed by faculty and staff, and offer references for the parts of those processes which are completed within the transactional (GUI), portal, and reporting (BW) systems of myNKU.

Processes in the FI module relate to recording and tracking of all budgets, expenses, and revenues. FI processes, policies and data are administered by the Budget Office, Office of the Comptroller, Grants and Contracts Administration, Student Account Services, and Procurement Services. Examples of FI functions include purchase requisitions, goods receipts, budget transfers, parked vendor invoices, travel requests and expenses, and the workflows related to each.

Processes in the HCM module are used to record and track personnel management functions. HCM processes, policies and data are administered by the Office of Human Resources and Payroll department, with consultation from the Office of the Provost for faculty personnel management, the Office of Student Financial Assistance for student employment, as well as the Office of the Comptroller and Grants and Contracts Administration for the financial aspects. Examples of HCM functions include viewing salary statements, updating selected personal and direct deposit information, annual enrollment for benefits, entry of Personnel Action Requests (PARs), time administration, and enterprise compensation management (ECM).

SLCM processes comprise all of the student-related functions in myNKU, and take place across all of the myNKU systems - transactional (GUI), portal, and reporting (BW). SLCM processes, policies, and data are administered by several offices as well, including primarily the Office of Admission, Office of the Registrar, Student Account Services and Office of Student Financial Assistance. Examples of CM functions include review of applications for admission, academic advising, course registration and permit entry, course schedule construction, grade and attendance reporting, degree audit, application for graduation, transcript requests, student billing and collections, and financial aid administration.

BW is the database used for generating reports based on current or historical data in the FI, HCM, and SLCM modules.
