Subject: Congratulations to Joan Gates
Dear Campus Community:
It is with bittersweet emotion that I write to inform you that Joan Gates has accepted the position of Vice President and General Counsel at CTI Clinical Trials & Consulting. Her last day with us is April 15, 2022.
I am grateful to have worked with Joan these past few years and I wish her the best in her new endeavor.
Joan joined NKU as Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel in July 2016, coming to us from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Among the most important successes during Joan’s time at NKU is the effective compliance on multiple institutional issues that we faced including the negotiation of contracts and the exit from the KERS system. On a personal note, I will miss her excellent counsel on several strategic issues including developing the enterprise risk management plan.
We will begin search for a new Vice President and General Counsel immediately and I am pleased that Bonita Brown (co-chair), Tammy Knochelmann (co-chair), Judith Daar, Arnie Slaughter, John Gaffin, and Professor Kathleen Fuegen have graciously agreed to serve on the search advisory committee.
Please join me in congratulating Joan as she begins a new chapter in her life.
